Meet Our Presenters

Dereck has been broadcasting for over 50 years, starting out on Hospital Radio and over the years presented on Chiltern Radio, BigL and Community Radio. Today he presents “Good Times Great Music” a weekly programme that features all the music he grew up with, including two chart countdowns and news stories from the featured chart.

A seasoned radio veteran, Dave Ellis has lived in Hertfordshire since the mid 80’s, working for many years at the BBC’s Elstree Studios, now bringing his long running Saturday Soul Show to BWR along with the Sunday night Record Club, playing music as nature intended, direct from the original vinyl from the legendary Soul Towers.

 A programme which is top and tailed with the news and best selling singles from two charts from bygone years. Sandwiched in the middle Ken opens his nostalgia bag to reveal a number of musical features, plus keeping listeners up to date with local events and all of your ‘Whats Ons' in and around Boreham Wood during the weekend and coming weeks.

Radio listeners may remember me from the ‘Story of Glam Rock’ programme which ran for several years on local radio.

Hey! I’m Macie your pop-culture expert! From the latest music to movies I keep up with all of it and I love to yap about it too! I’ll present the drive time show every Friday to keep you up to date with all the latest celebrity news and we can discuss new music releases too! I’ve been radio presenting across various community radio stations for 4years and I am keen to expend my experience as a broadcaster. With a passion for presenting, I am honoured to have this platform to speak directly to you!

Sarah Joy  is a new local presenter from Boreham Wood. She presents her ' Sunday On The Record ' show with Keith Reeve. A new show mixing old and new music with chat and laughs. The perfect soundtrack to your sunday!

 An excellent local presenter, technical person and trainer /mentor to new show hosts. Has uploaded thousands of tracks to our Music library and spent a lot of time categorising them. A true' Swiss Army Knife' and an  asset to the station.

Starting his radio career in 1989, Mark certainly has some radio years under his belt. 
Starting at his local Hospital Radio station at just 16 years old after getting the radio bug, he ventured into what would be a life long career. 
Mark currently presents Decades Breakfast 5 days a week .

Clive was a pioneer of Community Radio in the UK in the 1980s while working at City Radio at St Albans City Hospital. He set up Hertfordshire’s first Community Radio station Radio Verulam in St Albans in 2006 and worked there until 2023. He then joined the group of local people in Borehamwood (where he grew up) planning to start a new community Radio station in the town which became Boreham Wood Radio.

Simon has a wealth of music knowledge to bring to BWR. He has joined us from Radio Harrow where he has been presenting his show for several years. He will play great music spanning the decades, covering different genres. There will also be music challenges and a whole lot more.
