Elstree & Borehamwood Museum

2026 is a very special year at Elstree Film Studios.

100 years ago a new film studio, British National, was opened

on 40 acres of land on Shenley Road on the outskirts of 

Borehamwood.

Renamed as BIP (British International Pictures), later ABPC

(Associated British Picture Corporation), it is today known

as Elstree Film Studios.

On 2nd June a new exhibition opened to visitors to the Elstree

& Borehamwood Museum at #96 Shenley Road.

"A Ribbon of Dreams" celebrates the centenary of our world-

famous studios and features the stories of many of the film

and TV classics created there over the past century.

Now you can enjoy those stories, supported by films from

the Museum's archives and a range of props loaned by local

residents whose families worked in the studios and helped

build its history.
