The campaign to save St. Nicholas Primary School continues...
As expected, yesterday the Cabinet of Hertfordshire County Council agreed to post a statutory notice to announce the proposed closure.
The item was handled in just 4 minutes, with no comments or questions from Councillors.
On Monday I had attended a meeting with the Leader of Hertsmere
Borough Council, the Mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood Council
and its Town Clerk, the Head of the school and the Chair of the Board
of Governors.
BWR was thanked for its coverage of the campaign, and yesterday
I recorded another brief podcast with the Headteacher, Kate Johnston-Grant.
The campaign is NOT over yet and we are actively examining all
possible opportunities to influence the FINAL decision in April.

After 140 years serving Elstree, St. Nicholas Primary School
now faces closure.
In this first in a series of podcasts, Headteacher Kate Johnston-Grant
and her Deputy Emily Porges describe to BWR the public consultation
which has just started and the support they have already received
from parents and neighbours.
BREAKING NEWS: On 12th November Elstree & Borehamwood
Town Council unanimously pledged to support fully St. Nicholas
Primary School during the critical months of consultation.
